Malibu Beach House

In July of 2022, I took the online ‘Design the Wright Space’ Architecture Course by the Taliesin Frank Lloyd Wright Organization, where I learned about Frank Lloyd Wright. When designing my own space, I acknowledged Wright’s precision, and consistent elements of nature, science, and art in his pieces.

When making my own piece, I focused on nature, specifically how to integrate a building without disrupting the land and nature. After deciding the purpose of my building was going to be a beach club, I knew how I would conserve the land. I was inspired by the lifeguard towers that lie over the sand with stilts and used this same concept in my design. This is definitely one of the unique features in my modern beach club.

Another feature is the sliding doors that allow for a complete indoor-outdoor feel. By doing this, I also eliminated any need for heating/cooling systems and encouraged using less energy, which was another way to help conserve nature.

Below are some images of my final model and floor plan.
